Makeup geek cream and brown eyeshadows

Makeup geek eyeshadow swatches and review

***

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently discovered Makeup Geek Cosmetics eyeshadows and how much I love them. They are by far my favorite shadows of my entire collection. I bought so many of them and here are some pictures of some of my brown and cream ones.
You can see, some of them are quite close but they are all different I swear!

Makeup geek eyeshadow swatches and review

Peach Smoothie: light beige peach with a matte finish.
So pigmented, this is the perfect base or blending eyeshadow.

Crème brulée: Light to medium brown with a matte finish.
Great all over the lid and perfect for transition or blending. Nice shade for everyday use.

Frappe: Medium warm brown with reddish undertone.
Great all over the lid and perfect for transition or blending. Nice shade for everyday use.
I LOVE this one because it is warmer than Crème brulée or Latte, but lighter than Cocoa bear.

Latte: Medium brown more on a cool side with a matte finish.
Great all over the lid and perfect for transition or blending. Nice shade for everyday use, perfect neutral shade.

Cocoa bear: Rich warm reddish brown, medium to dark brown, matte finish
It gives you the most beautiful warm look. I wear this one almost everyday since I purchased it!

Brown sugar: Rich warm brown with a satin finish.
It is the little brother of Cocoa bear, it has a subtle sheen to it.

Mocha: Dark brown with a matte finish.
Love it for the lower lash line and the outer V.

Bada bing: Dark brown with gold flecks in it but mostly matte.
Lower lash line go to, the glitters are very very fine, you can't really see the flecks. Perfect to darken the outer V and smokey looks.

You can see, they are all super pigmented and not chalky or powdery at all. If I had to pick a neutral palette, I would choose them again and again.

I wanted to show you some side by site pictures because it is not easy to pick the right shade as colors on the website are not accurate.

Makeup Geek some blue and cool shades

Makeup geek eyeshadow swatches: corrupt, nautica, ocean breeze, glass slipper, graphite

For summer, I love vivid colors, this is almost the only period of the year where I wear these type of shades. I love a nice deep blue lower lash line or even teal and turquoise.

The black eyeshadow, Corrupt from Makeup geek is one of the darkest black I have ever seen, LOVE it even if it is a bit powdery. The gray one is also a must have, I like mix silver and black for a sexy smokey look.
These eyeshadows are so creamy and pigmented, I love how colorful are the swatches. Ocean breeze is now one of my all time favorite eyeshadow of my collection so it is unique!

Corrupt : deep black matte
Nautica : dark blue, satin finish
Ocean Breeze : dark teal, satin to shimmery finish
Glass slipper : turquoise, satin to shimmery finish
Graphite: cool gray, shimmery finish

Makeup Greek eyeshadows: some purple staples

Makeup geek eyeshadow swatches: drama queen, sensuous, unextected, twilight, prom night

I rarely wear colorful looks, I always stick to my neutrals but a good purple is a staple!
I love wearable purples of course (mostly) because you can use them for your everyday life, at the office or at school, I always go for shades I can wear on a regular base.

These are some of my favorites from Makeup Geek.

Drama queen : dark eggplant with some silver flecks, almost matte finish.
Sensuous : medium purple with fine glitters, satin / shimmery finish.
Unexpected : matte light purple. So beautiful for transition or crease area.
Twilight : the satin version of Unexpected.
Prom night: purple silver taupe , the perfect dupe for Satin taupe from Mac, shimmery finish. Love to use it on its own. A nice neutral with a twist eyeshadow.

Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadows review and swatches

Some new additions to my collection. I know, I went totally crazy recently with Makeup Geek products but once you start, you don't know where it's going to end...I haven't been that exited about products since a long time! So I needed to share and scream to the world my love!

These eyeshadows are unique, they are so smooth and creamy, the texture has almost a wet touch, but not really, I don't know, it is UNIQUE!
What I  like about them is the intensity of the shades and the color range. I am more a neutral type of person, but these metallic eyeshadows, I needed them so bad. Each time I watched a tutorial of someone using "In the spotlight", the warm peach color, or "Magic Act" in the inner dot of the eyes, I was totally staring at it so it is shiny and beautiful.
So I decided to take a deep breath and order a bunch of these. My review is a long one, details and swatches and a huge GO for these gems :).

I did not notice any creasing on myself, but I don't have oily eyelids. I heard that it can crease for the oily girls out there because of the formulation. It contains some oil in it so that the powders stick together and don't create any fall out, which I find very convenient as the product is so pigmented. I t doesn't make any mess contrary to lots of other eyeshadows in the market.

Warning, these eyeshadows are freaking metallic, so you have to use a light hand. It is recommended to apply the product with a flat shader brush. I personally use my fingers and dense brushes. It give you a more intense application. Of course, you can use them with a blending brush for a lighter effect.

Magic act: light yellow
Starry eyed: pale pink
Grandstand: Brownish taupe
Untamed: Orange gold
High wire: Light silver with blue undertone
Caitlin rose: Bright purple blue
Masquerade: Bright purple fuchsia

My favorites are In the spotlight and Grandstand. These are the most wearable (neutral) and for shy people, it is a good introduction to these foiled eyeshadows.
I LOVe the two purple shades too, on the lower lash line, gorgeous!
Untamed is also fantastic, this is pure gold on your eyes!

Magic act: light yellow, great for the inner corner or the eyes. I would not recommend this one on the brow bone so it is metallic and intense.

Starry eyed: pale pink, so pretty for the inner corner to create a nice pop.

In the spotlight: Peach, create on the lid, pat it in the center of the lid to catch the light.

Grandstand: Brownish taupe, on the lid, in the center or all over to catch the light too.

Untamed: Orange gold, placed in the center of the lid or on the lower lash line.

High wire: Light silver with blue undertone, a nice inner dot eyeshadow. You can also use it as an eyeliner.

Chic October jewelry, Gerard Cosmetics 1995 and Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Look

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

On my face today, my favorite combo of the moment, a neutral eye look using all Makeup Geek eyeshadows and a taupe lipstick from Gerard Cosmetics, the perfect shade (1995) for a polished look, a mauvy warm shade, the whole thing paired with one of my creation (ChicOctober Jewelry) , a turquoise gemstone gold necklace.

The eye combo is on the warm side, I really enjoy warm looks lately, this Cocoa Bear ( a rich reddish brown) and Homecoming (taupe brown) shadows are to die for. You can use Homecoming on its own, so perfect for everyday life!

Makeup of the day

Monday, May 11, 2015

I am loving these products shoots recently so this is my take on these.
The only thing I am constantly sticking to is this amazing foundation from Estee Lauder. I love (almost) loving all aspects from it. The only part I am not a huge fan is that it gives a very matte finish, it is almost caky if you don't apply a face mist like Mac Fix+ and it is quite heavy. In combination with it, it becomes the perfect foundation for me. I like it covers nicely my imperfections.
The other products I can't live without are my Makeup Geek eyeshadows...I can't say enough good things about them. Try it, you'll develop a rapid addiction...
My most favorite at the moment, Bitten, such a beautiful red, burgundy shade, Cocoa bear, a rich reddish brown, very warm, OMG, fabulous! The light one is Shimma Shimma, perfect inner corner / highlight shadow. And this Insomnia pigment, between green and brown, crazy beautiful, I could use it everyday day so it is pretty!
