Birchbox August 2011

Sunday, September 18, 2011

I think that my august Birchbox was the most deceptive among my may, june, july and september ones.
As you can see, There is only one make up product which is a tiny mascara sample, the rest is perfume (again and again), face peeling mask, hair treatment and a ridiculous elastic for your hair.

The Amika Oil Treatment is my favorite product in the august Birchbox. I used it during these 2/3 last weeks and I love it! My hair is damaged because of all the bleaching and dyes I did. It really moisturize and reduce frizziness. The results are quite obvious and my hair looks better and we don't have oily residue on your hair after application. Hair is healthier and I love the scent, it's fresh, sweet and floral. It's paraben free too. I think it will be the only full size product I will get from them with my redeem points.

Not a big fan of this Anastasia's mascara. I have nothing special to declare about it, it's just a basic mascara, it is a little bit clumpy and dries fast. I can't see anything interesting on my straight, short asian lashes.

I haven't try this sample because I don't have lines or wrinkles at all. Why they sent me that? A ramdom stuff again...

I like the scent or Atelier Cologne perfume, it reminds me "Sea Island Cotton" from Bath & Beauty Works  (review of some summer perfume), it's fresh and for me it's more a spring/summer perfume.
It's way too expensive to purchase the full size product! $50/ 30ml and $125/ 200ml. I prefer my Sea Island Cotton for $10!

I think the Earthen InstantPeel is pretty nice because you can use it in the shower which is really convenient but the fragrance is too strong for me and you really have to spend a lot of time and work the product a lot to peel the mask. Again the full size product is ridiculously too pricy!! $50 for 30ml/ 1oz. I can't tell about the results, 2 samples are not enough to see any improvements.

The last thing and the worst thing ever, the elastic...I thought it was a joke!!! I first thought it was a wrapping  ribbon, but not at all, they talk about a "sophisticate" hair tie, which "looks as good on your wrist as it does on your hair". Seriously! Don't treat people more stupid they are! For me it's just a basic ugly elastic and that's it! It's simply crap...

What about your last Birchbox, what did you get?
